My artistic style can be described as simple and modern, seamlessly blending my love for nature with a contemporary flair. Art and creativity is for everyone, and helping people to find the courage to begin is my true goal. Through my YouTube channel, I find that barriers to creativity can be broken down and allow the spark of creativity to arise within those who may have felt excluded from the art world due to circumstances beyond their control. Doodlewash and Charlie’s motivation are very close to my philosophy. One of my driving forces is my desire to inspire individuals who, like me, have not had the privilege of an art education or the opportunity to thrive in the conventional world of art. Little did I know that my channel would soon become a sanctuary for aspiring artists and art enthusiasts alike. Here, with my daughter Tamsin’s help, I began to share my artistic process, unveiling my creative techniques, and inviting viewers into my world of simple, modern, nature-inspired watercolors. With the freedom to now choose an alternative route, and recognizing the power of the internet as a platform for connection and artistic expression, I took the bold step of creating my YouTube channel, Diane Antone Studio. When the pandemic struck in 2020 my world was turned upside down, and the business I had been running with my daughter from a bricks and mortar location had to close. But I continued playing with watercolors whenever I could, always fascinated by their flowing nature, translucent properties, and the way they could stir deep emotions and bring healing through the creative process. Throughout the twists and turns of an ordinary life as a wife and mother, I had little time to enjoy the freedom of an artistic path. It was wandering around the meadows and woods around my home that I developed a keen eye for the simple wonders of the natural world and the start of a deep appreciation for the simple joys nature brings. But those small hardships helped me to discover as a child great solace in the beauty of nature. Growing up in a poor part of 1950s England, I experienced daily a struggle for survival and the scarcity of resources. I strive to be an inspiration for those who, like me, have not had the privilege of an art education or the opportunities to thrive in the artistic realm.Īlthough, like most children, I loved drawing and painting while growing up, it was much later in life that I discovered my true passion for watercolor. Through my YouTube channel, Diane Antone Studio, I’ve been able to place myself as a creator of simple, modern nature-inspired watercolors which I can share with a world-wide community of like-minded folk.īut my purpose goes beyond just creating and sharing my art. Welcome to my artistic world! I’m Diane Antone, and recently my journey as a watercolor artist has defied all my expectations.
